**UPDATE REGARDING HURRICANE MICHAEL AND THE LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

 

The 2018 Legislative Leadership Conference, scheduled for October 10-12 at Jekyll Island, will be held as planned even though Hurricane Michael will impact the weather during a couple of days while we are on the island. There is a potential threat of inclement weather from Hurricane Michael in many parts of the state, but ACCG’s state emergency contacts advise we will be secure in holding the conference as scheduled. Please see below for the weather forecast for Jekyll Island provided by the National Weather Service office in Jacksonville, Florida. 

 

Wednesday

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 2pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Breezy, with a southeast wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

 

Wednesday Night

Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 76. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

 

Thursday

Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 86. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

 

Thursday Night

A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.

 

Friday

A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 85.
