DOR Publishes Final Guidance on Equipment for the new DRIVES System
In preparation for implementation of the state’s new “DRIVES” integrated title, tag, and driver information system in May of 2019, the Department of Revenue has published a guide regarding equipment upgrades necessary to implement that system at the county level. That detailed information can be found here. While all tax commissioners’ office should be fully engaged in the implementation of DRIVES, it is important to communicate with your tax commissioners to ensure that they have adequately addressed any equipment-related funding in their budget requests. In order to allow more time for counties to address any equipment funding needs, the deadline for county tax commissioners’ offices to begin scanning documents into the DRIVES system has been delayed until July 1, 2020.
