Service Delivery Strategies

The Service Delivery Strategies Act, adopted in 1997, provides a framework within which local governments in each county can develop a service delivery system (SDS) that is both efficient and responsive to citizens in their county. Local governments must revise their service delivery strategy and submit it to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for verification when certain circumstances occur. Additional information on these requirements can be found at O.C.G.A. § 36-70-20, et seq. Information on SDS verification and compliance requirements can be found on the DCA website at https://www.dca.ga.gov/local-government-assistance/planning/intergovernmental-coordination/service-delivery-strategies-sds.
