Call for Nominations: 2026 ACCG Awards and Recognition Program
2026 ACCG Leadership Awards Nomination Period Now Open
The ACCG Leadership Awards Program serves to recognize the individuals who provide outstanding contributions to their local community. The Association also works with the Georgia County Clerks' Association to present the County Clerk of the Year Award.
The ACCG Leadership Awards – Emory Greene and Jerry R. Griffin Excellence in Public Service awards - are the highest honors given to elected or appointed county officials or other individuals who have made significant contributions through public service in local government and other involvement within the community and/or the state level. An overview of each award can be found here. Nominations are being accepted for the following awards:
Emory Greene Leadership Award (Elected officials)
Jerry R. Griffin Excellence in Public Service Award (Appointed county staff or department member)
For both the Emory Greene Leadership Award & the Jerry R. Griffin Excellence in Public Service Award, all nomination forms must be signed by the county chairman. If the chairman is the nominee, nomination forms must be signed by the county manager/administrator or clerk.
Section Awards
Clerk of the Year nominations must be submitted to the Georgia County Clerks' Association Awards Selection Committee. See the clerks' application for details.
The Leadership Awards honor those actively engaged in their communities and allows ACCG to emphasize the value of leadership. County officials are encouraged to nominate an individual whom they feel best demonstrates, through their selfless actions and dedication to service in the community. The award recipients will be honored at the 2026 ACCG Annual Conference in Chatham County.
Applications are due Friday, February 13, 2026, by 5 p.m. All Nominations except for the Clerks Award must emailed to ACCG Communications Specialist Benjamin Grady at bgrady@accg.org. No late entries will be accepted.
