Congressionally Directed Spending Requests

Congressionally Directed Spending Requests

For the first time in over a decade, Congress has restored the authority to approve congressionally directed spending items. For FY2022 spending, the U.S. House considered member requests for spending measures in March and April 2021.

Georgia’s Senators are interested in hearing from local officials about qualifying Georgia projects. At this point, congressionally directed spending requests are for informational purposes only and are not an application for federal funding.

The deadline to submit congressionally directed spending requests to Senator Warnock for the fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills is May 14, 2021, at 7 p.m. EST.
